As a native Salvadorian myself, I thought I knew the country well.
But my recent trip to this beautiful land has shown me that there is so much more to it than I thought!
I got a chance to visit some really amazing places that were inaccessible during the Salvadorian civil war.
I visited Isla El Zacatillo, Isla Meanguera and Juiquilisco Bay.
And I've got to tell you this... you just have to go and see it for yourself!
It's really great and you'll have an amazing time!
It's no wonder this beautiful country was among Lonely Planet's top 10 countries to visit in 2010.
We travel this country from coast to coast. From Santa Ana to La Union, we visit less-known places no matter how small.
We want to bring you all the information necessary for you to plan your next trip to this great little country in Central America!
The Beaches: The beaches in here are among the best for surfing. Check out this surfer's paradise...
Just want to relax at the beach? You can do that too!
I spent an afternoon at Playa El Tunco relaxing and had a good time watching all the surfers doing their thing.
Mayan Ruins: Want to add a cultural and historic flare to your trip?
Visit the Mayan ruins of San Andres, Tazumal, Joya de Ceren and more.
They will show you how our ancestors lived thousands of years ago.
Tourist Attractions: Like El Boqueron National Park, La Puerta del Diablo, Isla Meanguera, El Zacatillo and more.
Hike around the volcano crater, then stop at the restaurant for lunch, coffee and semita or just to rest. The views are amazing!
Puerta del Diablo is only about 20 minutes from San Salvador city center. Hike up the great boulder for an awesome view of the city.
All Inclusive Resorts: Rather go to the beach and be catered to?
There are excellent all inclusive resorts in El Salvador, one of which is Decameron Salinitas.
A beautiful place with all the comforts we look for in a top-notch resort.
San Salvador: Tour the great city of San Salvador.
You'll discover this modern city is a busy metropolis with lots of shopping, eating and sight seeing to do.
While there, don't forget to visit the Salvador del Mundo Plaza - the city's most well known landmark.

From luxury 5-star hotels, to medium and small hotels to hostels and B & B's; you will find suggestions for excellent and affordable hotels.
