Here we recommend our top choices San Salvador hotels El Salvador news headlinesVirtual Museum: El Salvador’s first virtual museum is now up and running and is named after the famous Salvadorean artist Ernesto Avilés (aka “San Avilés”). The virtual museum or gallery is pretty cool, it has about 120 pieces from this painter and the exhibitions change every month so there is always something new to see. As the site grows, pieces from international artists will be added. When I first came a cross it, I thought I would quickly check it out, but I spent much more time than I had anticipated. There is just so much to see! The site is a bit slow at times, but the wait is surely worth the wait. Check it out at San Avilés Virtual Museum Lufthansa: Starting 1 April 2009, Lufthansa will be offering flights to San Salvador through their new code-sharing program with TACA Airlines. Members of Lufthansa’s and TACA’s Distancia frequent flier programs will be able to earn and redeem reward miles on all partner routes. This partnership will certainly prove to be a very convenient for travellers. Sending flowers to El SalvadorFlowers can speak for us when we cannot or be somewhere when we are not able to be present. Different occasions call for different flower arrangements and that's one of the things I like about floraqueen.com. The great, friendly service along with fresh, beautiful flower arrangements make it a great option when sending flowers to El Salvador. The key is that local flower shops are the ones that make the delivery to just about any city or town, backed by floraqueen's 100% satisfaction guarantee! That was the important thing that drew me to them, knowing that local shops make the actual deliveries but backed up by a reputable company. FloraQueen. Featured Hot SpotAlegría (Joy) Lagoon: It is located in the mountainous region of Usulután about 35k from San Miguel, on eastern El Salvador. Its emerald green waters make this an enchanting and relaxing place to visit with friends or family. The area itself is surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna. There are great little eateries in the area with super delicious food as well as family run hostels for those who are looking to spend the night. Among other attractions in the town of Alegría, is the house where the famous Salvadorean artist Alberto Masferrer lived as well as the bust-sized statue of ex-president Manuel Enrique Araujo and the local church with colonial style architecture. Coming soonSo who doesn’t like to go shopping even when on vacation - everyone likes to shop, right? We’ll be setting up a page about the best places to go shopping in San Salvador.
