News Headlines
Hotels weekend specials: Great deals on El Salvador hotels! 6 major hotels have joined to offer 50% discount weekend prices from August to December 31st, 2010. Read more info here…
Starbucks in El Salvador: Great news everyone, Starbucks Coffee will be opening its first store in Central America and has chosen El Salvador as the 1st location. The new Starbucks Coffee Shop is scheduled to open before the end of the year in Plaza Santa Elena, Antiguo Cuscatlan. We'll keep you updated about the opening date.
FIFA ranking: El Salvador moves up 4 points on the FIFA ranking and is now #86 which is way higher than Canada’s ranking of 101.
Weather: El Salvador weather has been a little crazy lately to say the least. La Niña has sent storm after storm to all areas of the country.
There has been flooding and land slides in several areas. You can see how high the water rose in the corn field pictured below. The rains are expected to continue on and off for a few more weeks.

Los Cobanos: Los Cobanos is a beautiful coastal town in Sonsonate and is one of El Salvador’s richest ecological areas.
Born as a fishing village, Los Cobanos has grown into a must-visit tourist town specially for those who like water adventures.
Sport fishing in Los Cobanos is a very popular activity with local and foreign fishing aficionados.
The tour company Fish El Salvador, based right in Los Cobanos, offers deep sea fishing tours, rock and reef fishing and just about any type of fishing people are interested in. you can read the great comments from happy fishermen about Fish El Salvador – I guess nothing beats making that big catch!
But you can do more in Los Cobanos, how about scuba diving or snorkeling? Los Cobanos is home to the only reef on the Pacific Region so there’s lots to see!
