I’m sure we all remember the popular song that says "ni pobre ni rico, ni chele ni prieto, ni hembra ni macho, ni alto ni bajo, porque todo es igual en San Miguel en carnaval"… and the song keeps going Starting from November 5th, there is a small carnival (carnavalito) every night with some of the most popular music bands in the country as well as other guest bands like La Sonora Dinamita from Colombia, and this will continue until November 27th. Travesia Montecristo: Do you like mountain biking? Do you like racing? If you do, this may be the thing you have been looking for… Travesia Montecristo is a race that will take place on Montecristo mountain which extends over Honduras and Guatemala and will be done over the course of 3 days. This 5th edition of the race will take place on December 3rd, 4th, and 5th of this year and it promises to be just as exciting and fun as the previous ones. I know this is a great time to visit El Salvador… great weather, kids are out of school. This is my favourite time of the year to go – I love the cooler days and the warm breeze… If you are planning on going, you might as well try to get the best deal for your money, I find that TripAdvisor is a great option as it allows you to compare prices so you can choose the best one for you. compare airfares here. In case you missed it… we are almost done getting everything ready to offer you an amazing DVD of El Salvador entitled "El Salvador - A different Point of View". It’s a one of a kind video created by professional photographers and producers. Have a little peek of it here The awesome thing is that you will be able to buy a digital version that you can download directly to your computer, you can then view it on your computer or TV and enjoy it with your friends and family. OK, so I’m keeping a little busy… I’m also working on a recipe book, this will be a great collection of El Salvador food recipes. It will have many of my favourites and many more Salvadorian dishes. In this book you’ll find recipes for Empanadas de platano, marquesote, ceviche, escabeche, budin de pan, borrachos, gallo en chicha, rellenos and so much more. Stay tuned, I will have more news on the recipe book soon. San Miguel: It’s got to be the hot spot in El Salvador this month… it’s party central with the carnival going on this month. What else can you do in San Miguel? You can surf the amazing beaches In San Miguel El Salvador like Punta Mango and Las Flores or spend a nice quiet day at El Cuco beach. And who can forget the Chaparrastique volcano – an amazing place for a day hike. There is so much more to do in San Miguel, take a look… Free wallpapers to download!!!
