New Recipe! - Try the delicious Sopa de frijoles con carne News HeadlinesThe IX Central American and Caribbean Games are on full blast in Panama and El Salvador is at the top of the leader board with a whopping 118 medals won! Yes, that’s right, El Salvador owns the games and seems unstoppable in many of the events like Karate where they pulled a fascinating 6 gold medals. El Salvador also won gold in women’s fencing, rowing, wrestling, weight lifting and more!! This is so exciting, we’ll let keep watching the standings and will let you know what the final medal count is. Here are the standings so far:
San Andres Ruins: The San Andres ruins are a great place to visit, they are located in Antiguo Cuscatlan and it's very easy to get there. It's really amazing what you can see here, given that this place was a regional capital city of its time, so only important people lived there. There was an acropolis, a communal area where the market used to be and people would gather. The indigo workshop is one of the highlights of the visit. it was discovered in 1990's and the fun thing is that you can actually dye your own piece of clothing just the way they did it back then! To keep this newsletter fun and to help us all to remember those sayings we grew up with, I have decided to add a new section to every issue of this newsletter.
