News HeadlinesJuegos Centroamericanos: The games ended and El Salvador came out at the top of the leader board! Here are the final standings:
Plaza Las Américas: I think we all remember walking or driving by the Plaza Las Americas with the most popular landmark in El Salvador, El Salvador del Mundo. Well, a makeover for El Salvador del Mundo is now underway and it's scheduled to re-open November 15th, 2010. The new plaza promises to have more space where people can actually go and sit, relax and enjoy the shade from the Maquilishuat trees that will be planted there. The new plaza will also be used for civic events. It's going to look really nice, here is a small picture of what it will look like once finished.
Ilobasco: Ilobasco is one of the most popular artisan towns in El Salvador and home to the beautifully detailed miniature pottery called "Sorpresas". If you like arts and crafts, this is a must see town. Sure there isn't a whole lot of other stuff to do, but you can literally spend hours stopping at the small clay workshops and even create your own. Beatiful pieces of these "sorpresas" are displayed at the Dominga Herrera gallery at Museum of Popular Art in San Salvador
For all the Salvadoreños, and those who like to speak Salvadoreño, here are a few terms and their meaning straight from the "Guanaco Dictonary". Chis, qué te has creído?. And for this... I think the picture kind of speaks for itself... And who said we're not bilingual?!
