I know that I always make time to go vacation shopping and I know many people do the same, after all what's a vacation without shopping?

So I want to share with you what I think are some of the best shopping malls in San Salvador.

There are several major shopping malls in San Salvador that provide travelers a great variety of places to shop at – all under one roof.

You can do much more than just shopping here, you can also find great entertainment for everyone in the family.

So let’s talk shopping…

If you are hungry then here you can find fast food, Chinese food, Argentinean cuisine as well as the very popular Pollo Campero, which is kind of like KFC - only better (in my opinion) definitely a must-try while in El Salvador.

So be sure to wear comfortable shoes, if you are like me, and want to look at everything, then you’ll be spending a few hours at Galerías Escalón. It is located on Paseo General Escalón, #3700, San Salvador.

Here you can find fine dining restaurants, bars and a theater complex.

This shopping center is home to several department stores such as Sanborn’s and Dorian’s. Multiplaza Shopping Center is located on Panamerican Hwy, between Jerusalén Ave and El Espino Ave in Antiguo Cuscatlán – about 15 minutes from Zona Rosa.

In the food court you can find places like Subway, Burger King, coffee shops, Chinese food and much more.

You can also find national brand clothing stores like St Jack's, jewelry stores and so much more. There are also many kiosks on the hallways with lots of great, cheap stuff.

This is one of the best places to go shopping in San Salvador. Find it at Panamerican Hwy and Jerusalén Ave in Antiguo Cuscatlán

It is one of the most visited malls by locals, I don’t why but there is something about this place that just makes you want to keep coming back.

Here you can also find everything from Nine West shoes to St Jack’s t-shirts with fun Salvadorean slogans printed on them.

One store that I really like going to is Mike Mike, a store with the biggest selection of purses, briefcases, suitcases and all types of leather products. I always find great, excellent quality leather bags at bargain prices!

There are also live music shows, night entertainment, movie theaters and of course, lots and lots of restaurants with local and international cuisine.

Metrocentro is located on boulevard de los Héroes across from the Real Intercontinental Hotel but 3 other Metrocentro malls have opened in
El Salvador, one in Santa Ana, Sonsonate and San Miguel – so no matter where you are, there’s one near you.

So as you can see, shopping in San Salvador is really fun, exciting and you can find really good deals. Don’t forget that with the US dollar currency circulating, you will find really good deals here so come prepared for some bargain shopping.
